Many people want to start their own e-commerce business by creating a simple ecommerce website, but they are afraid to do so either due to a lack of preparation, do not know how to do things properly, or both.
In today’s article, I will talk about ways you can start your very own e-commerce business in less than a month.
Finding the Right Supplier
Every business starts with a product concept. For instance, if you want to create something that will help the vast majority of people having back problems to be able to live a normal and healthy life, you will need to start with an actionable idea.
After you’ve come up with your own idea, the next thing that you need to consider is how to get your supplies.
Now, you either have your own supplier already or you can search for an online wholesaler that will help you ship the raw materials for you to repackage. Since most people do not have their own supply markets, they will usually resort to the latter option.
Putting Up Your Online Store
Next, you will need to use an online platform for your store. Since you’re still a beginner, you can use something like Shopify to help you get started. You can get a pretty barebones platform with all of the main options available to you and the customers.
Once you’ve set up your online platform, it is time to beautify the platform and make it uniquely yours. Use product images that will help entice people to buy them and create a blog with relevant content pieces to help convince people that they should purchase some of the things you have on offer.
As for the pricing, it is best that you conduct some competitive analysis to see how your competitors are pricing their products. Based on the data, you can either increase the average prices a little bit and make your products better or you can lower down the prices instead to make a profit.
Remember, since you’re still starting out, you can start with some base prices first. Once your business has lifted and has been operating for quite some time, you can then increase the prices slightly as time progresses.
Packing and Preparation
Since you’re a relatively new business owner and you do not have enough capital to hire your own personnel, you may need to do all of the repacking and preparation yourself (along with some other friends).
Think about how you will package your products in a way that looks professional. Next, you want to make sure that your product branding is also prominent as well so that people will know where the product is from.
Lastly, you want to also include high-quality pictures as well since this is the only way for people to really tell how the product will look like in real life.
For people to know that you’re selling products, you want to start with your marketing efforts. The good thing about marketing nowadays is that there are countless platforms you can choose from.
Since many people are using social media platforms, it would be best to start there. I highly recommend that you start posting some high-quality photos of your products on sites such as Instagram or Pinterest.
